The lyrics are a picture of dedication, managing to avoid a stalkerish sentiment. Instead, it's like someone saying "I'm there for you" and we all know how well that works!

As a black woman who was a little girl listening to AM radio when this came out, may I humbly suggest instead the king of all jams, "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" as your Spinners entry.
